Cold, Snow, and a Day Off

It started spitting ice yesterday afternoon, snowing in the late evening. We woke up today to temperatures that never got out of the 20s and snow that shut down most of the city.

It meant a day off and time to sit by the woodstove. Heating with wood and a stove is a lot of work, and there just aren’t enough days like today. I know this weather made things hard for a lot of people, but I got the chance to enjoy a surprise day off.

The birds came out and got on the feeders in the afternoon. I think this is a female Baltimore Oriole.

Hope all of you are are safe and warm.
