What Is This? And Who’s Is It?

It’s easy to see what it is. It’s a Winchester 1894, chambered in 30.30, guessing from the size of the hole in the suppressor. An unregistered suppressor, mainly because there wasn’t any registration of guns of any type in those days. This rifle was used for varmint hunting and the owner didn’t want to disturb his rich neighbors on Long Island, so he had it fitted with a suppressor out of consideration.
It’s one of Teddy Roosevelt’s guns. He was President of the United States, once upon a time, back in Old America.
