Things must be pretty much okay in New Jersey

Hurricane Sandy didn’t damage New Jersey much at all. It’s business as usual up there.

Crews from Decatur Utilities and Joe Wheeler out of Trinity headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can’t do any work there since they’re not union employees… the crews were told to stand down… being told “thanks, but no thanks.”

So if you’re in New Jersey and you have no power, thank the union.

  1. Yeah, I just got word of that as well… still in the dark in Northern NJ.
There is not a crew to be seen between my house and the local sub-station… however the power in the neighborhood surrounding the substation and local power company office seems to working just fine, go figure. Not to mention I did not see a crew anywhere along my 35 mile commute to/from work the past 2 days, most of which is also without power.
