Burglars should accept risk of being shot, says judge.
Well, yes they should, and they do. But it was surprising to hear a judge in Great Britain say so.
From the New York Times:
Mr. Obama was scheduled to attend a reception for world leaders at the United Nations on Monday night. But a campaign adviser acknowledged privately that in this election year, campaigning trumped meetings with world leaders. “Look, if he met with one leader, he would have to meet with 10,” the aide said, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
Appearing on The View with Whoopi and Baba just makes good campaign sense. Taking time to meet the leaders of the world before the whole mess in the Mid-East melts down will just have to take a back seat. I mean, better Presidents than you have tried and failed to bring peace and stability to the Mid-East, but those wacky guys just keep choosing to kill each other. Wonder what the problem is? No point in trying to figure that out in an election year.
Pr. Obama tries to set up a straw man, making Gov. Romney into a dangerous hawk that wants the U.S. involved in war.
“So if Governor Romney is suggesting that we should start another war, he should say so,” Obama said.
I’m going to jump past anything that Gov. Romney wants or doesn’t want. Because we have a war. It’s all over the Middle East and we’re in it. Egypt? Libya? Iran? Iraq? Afghanistan? Where does Pr. Obama think we’re not at war? We’re at war right here in the United States. We are on a war footing at every loading gate at every airport for every passenger on every flight. Otherwise, what is the TSA doing?
Worse, we’re at war with an enemy we won’t name, won’t face, and aren’t willing to destroy.
The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies — civilians and military — is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it…. [E]very Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God’s order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it.
