How I Feel Now, Part 3

I feel just like Bloviating Zepplin does in this post. We can’t even make our bridges anymore. Wonder why there are no jobs?

We are in decline. We could still fix it, but we won’t.

How many people depend on some form of government support for housing/food/medical care?

How many people know more about the NFL, the NBA, MLB, the players and their stats than they do about the U.S. military deployed overseas?

Bread and circuses.

In less than a century, we have gone from a robust, creative, thriving economy to a declining power borrowing 40% of the money we spend with no hope or plan to pay it back. How long before the Visigoths?

  1. How many people watch.. The Housewives of (where ever) or Jersey Shore… or any of the so called (non) reality shows?

    We are so screwed.

  2. This makes a nice lead-in to the Obama “jobs for Americans” speech tonight.

Given that big bridges are almost always government enterprises with substantial federal funding, we're entited to ask: “WTF, Mr. President, we thought you opposed outsourcing jobs to Asia.”

  3. The Visigoths are already here. And I'm not referring to illegal aliens (I think).

Having over-lapping sports seasons keeps them at bay.

  4. The Gods of the Copybook Headings are warming up now. It will be within the next few years.

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins

When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,

As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,

The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!
