September 11th Still Burns

We weren’t nuanced. We weren’t worried about whose feeling we hurt. In case you think I’m remembering it wrong, here are the front pages from just four U.S. newspapers. Kind of hard to dismiss the Hartford Courant and USA Today as vile right wing hate mongers.

We saw it clearly that day. They mean to kill or convert us all. They attacked the best they knew how. If they could have done more, killed more, destroyed more, they would have. If they could do it better today, they would. It’s hard to think that there are people out there that believe in a god that will reward them for killing themselves if they take a few of the hated infidels with them. Easier to go back to sleep and figure it won’t happen in your lifetime.

We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren’t punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That’s war. And this is war.

  1. You know, old man, the fact that you closed this post with Ann Coulter has ruined its credibility.

This isn't 1945, it's 2010. We as a society can't afford to just say “kill em all let God sort em out” anymore. Unless, of course, you WANT to emulate those that attacked us… by invading their country, killing their innocents, and CONVERTING THEM. Isn't that what you hate about radical Islam?

But of course, that would be hypocrisy, wouldn't it?

  2. War always kills innocents. If it is a question of theirs or ours, I choose theirs. I don't see it it happening anytime soon.

I still think it's possible that that some them will achieve another attack so big that we will wake up and fight.

We didn't convert the enemies in WWII to Christianity, and I suspect Ann Coulter knows it.

  3. It isn't a question of if I want to live in a culture of hatred and fear, it's a question of how clearly am I looking at the issues. If I am not seeing reality clearly, that's a legitimate thing to point out. Then I can be corrected, shown what reality is, and change my views.

If there are not hundreds of thousands of Muslims that hate America with a killing hate, and millions more that wouldn't care if we got destroyed, then I am wrong. If there are, then that is a real issue that needs to be dealt with.
