Moose Stew

Moose stew, easily the best wild game I’ve eaten in years. Home made corn bread, and salad. Good company to share it with. It was a meal to slow down and appreciate.
Here is the main ingredient.
There’s a loud moment and a series of intermediate steps, but the outcome should looks something like this:

Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity.

  1. The fellow that brought the stew said he goes with a group that uses 8 wheeled ATVs and winches to get the gutted moose back out to where it can be skinned and butchered.

  2. Heavy is right. I was once in the company of an Elk hunt in northern New Mexico, while I was still in High School. After that loud moment there was a lot of work getting that beast out off the mountian but the Stew my Grandmother made us that night, was simply unbeleiveable. Which I am sure this feast was as well.
